Wuste Tzega Center Issues Report on Tumultuous Year

Since October 7, 2023, Wuste Tzega, the Culturally-Adapted Psychotherapy Center, has experienced a surge in demand for its services, assisting evacuees, injured individuals, soldiers, and civilians facing unimaginable trauma. The war has caused post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to develop in many Israeli populations; for many in the Ethiopian Jewish community, the trauma of this moment has also triggered the previous trauma of walking through Sudan and being trapped in harsh refugee camps.

As we mark nearly one year since the beginning of the war, Wuste Tzega has released their Annual Report, covering October 2023 to the present. We urge you to read about this organization's inspiring work here.

Highlights include:

*The launch of the first national hotline providing counselling and support in Hebrew and Amharic.

*Dozens of trainings on trauma and stress management to therapists across Israel, by Director Yeshitu Shmuel.

*Rapid expansion of staff and therapists to meet the needs of the population during wartime.
